I'm always a bit of a sucker for a church wedding. Sure, there are certainly challenges to shooting in a big church: it's dark, I can't use a flash, I don't want to block anyone's view, I need to be extra quiet, there are lots of places I can't stand or walk, etc. But there are also a lot of big plusses. First of all, the church itself is always a stunner. Stained glass. Religious iconography. Statues. Golden flourishes. Bouquets! Secondly, a logner ceremony gives us more time to get all of the pictures you want (NEED!). Ashly and Joseph's wedding included elements from the bride's her Irish Catholic heritage as well as the groom's Filipino culture. Details like this bring out the unique magic of the wedding day. After the ceremony, they lit up the dancefloor at the Avenir in Walpole.
