About Jamie

Newport Yacht Club Wedding-6297.jpg

Your wedding pictures should bring out the emotions and relationships between your friends and family that make your day magical.  As your wedding photographer, I strive to bring you photographs are bright, clear, sharp, and beautiful.  I approach every wedding with enthusiasm, energy and passion.  Every wedding I photograph is unique, so I continuously challenge myself artistically to bring out every couple's individual style.

Your wedding day should be stress-free and worry-free.  I provide a level of professionalism that ensures this so you can feel confident and relaxed throughout the day.  I'm at your side when you need me, and I'm out of your way when you don't.  My favorite compliment is when a bride says to me, "I love this picture, and I didn't even notice you took it!"

I use the latest equipment, software, and editing techniques.  All packages include full-rights, fine art prints, images on USB, and password protected gallery storage.

My introduction to photography came when I was five years old, and my parents bought me a plastic Fischer-Price 110 camera.  I dragged it everywhere.  I moved on from taking pictures of the family dog to photojournalism for the school newspaper.  In high school, I learned classical darkroom technique.  I have earned a Bachelor's of the Arts from the George Washington University, a Master's of the Arts from the University of East Anglia in the UK, and I further studied photography at the Rhode Island School of Design.  Through these three programs, I learned color theory and composition theory, which I apply to my skills as a photographer.  I have photographed for a number of studios, and I founded Jamie Corbman Photography in 2009.   My current approach to wedding photography builds upon my background in fashion photography and photojournalism.
